March 24, 2003 Woke up at 4:46 to the doorbell ringing over and over again non-stop at 7 second intervals. I groggily noticed it was still dark outside and made a pretty safe assumption that anyone who rings the doorbell like that at oh-dark-thirty is either a psychopath or in serious trouble. I hopped out of bed, threw on a pair of pants and grabbed my Beretta and popped in a full clip.
On the way down to the first floor, I happened to glance out the window and saw Suz's mom's SUV parked outside on the street. I popped the clip back out, crawled back into bed, poked Suz and told her to go deal with her mother. It's a damn good thing she doesn't try to let herself in.

The National Park Service thinks that Washington Post columnist Courtland Milloy is asking too many questions.
Currently listening to: The sound of a fully loaded 9mm clip clicking into the grip of a Beretta 92.
