Playa del Fuego goals

1. The core goal of the Playa del Fuego organization is to provide a bordered temporary autonomous zone twice a year for participants to build and create their own experience. To accomplish these goals, the organization is required to:

a. Secure a suitable property for the duration of the event.
b. Provide for biological essentials of all participants.
c. Provide real-world liability protection for organizers and landowners.
d. Inform, educate, and moderate participants to preserve respect the borders of the property, landowners and the autonomy of others.
e. Coordinate the use of limited on-site resources and structures fairly among participants.
f. Distribute the costs among all participants in an equitable manner.

2. The organization has taken it upon itself to also distribute additional costs when it:

a. Provides for convenient trash disposal for participants, with the cost distributed among all participants.
b. Provides a highlight event in the form of a bonfire at every event, with the cost distributed among all participants.
c. Purchases tickets for certain participants out of the group fund, for barter or favor.

3. The organization has taken it upon itself to reduce the autonomy of participants when it:

a. Requires participants with photographic equiment to enter into a contract in order to make it easier for the organization to inform and moderate those who do not respect the right of participants to not be photographed against their wishes.
b. Coordinates and documents the provision of on-scene emergency medical care.

4. The organization also finds an additional value without incurring tangible cost through:

a. Advertising the event through a web site, mailing lists and e-mail newsletters to attract participants new ideas and interests.
b. Documenting the history of events and decisions the organization has made during its life.
