December 22, 2002 Winter Solstice Burn in process.
9. Up. Steve discusses his first lucid dream ever.
10. Alex passes the morning with a long game of Go Fish.
11. Breakfast. Someone starts talking about how Burning Man was inspired by Las Vegas. Probably Wade.
12. Wade makes a mixture of rice, peanut butter, and Taco Bell hot sauce, which is pretty good. We all grab a can of Sac sac and revel in the sac-related humor.
13. We clean upstairs again and relax in bed for a little while. Suz really wants a Culver's chocolate malt.
14. Depart from Deeply Rooted at 14:25. Leah is driving. 19 degrees.
15. At the onset, everybody is irritated at everybody else and its too hot in the car. 21 degrees outside. Finally everybody is sleeping. I decided to figure out a mathematical way to solve all sides of a Rubik Cube, but after a few lines decided to solve one color at a time, then got bored and went back to the math.
16. We stop for gas coincidentally next to a Culver's in Portage, WI. We all have malts and Alex has a burger, probably the most calories she's had all had in one sitting all weekend. 26 degrees.
17. I sleep. Northern Wisconsin passes by.
18. Suz continues driving. The calories from Alex's burger are all being converted into sound and motion next to me in the backseat. 26 degrees. We get a tour of downtown from Suz and see the Milwaukee Art Museum with the wings down.
19. We stop at Noodles and Company in East Milwaukee for Pad Thai and Macaroni and Cheese. Filling. Leah gets upset about a City Paper article which mentions Messianic Jews, calling them a cult and saying "if you're Christian you should just admit it." Suz drives en route to Chicago, IL. 26 degrees.
20. Out of the blue Leah starts talking about Messianic Jews again. We pass Racine, WI and all laugh. Steve and I explain the science of moon phases to Alex. We pass a Nike Factory Store. I wonder to myself if they use child labor to stock the shelves.
21. I'm scanning DC to light all through Chicago, IL. I probably commit several unwitting violations of the Cyber Security Enhancement Act on my way through the spectrum. Find only KWO39 (which I later find is broadcasting from the top of the Sears Tower), a repeater frequency for Chicago area media station WBBM-FM 96.5 FM on 450.5125 MHz and a shared A-Beep LTR trunking system where the audio frequency reversed and I record a very interesting sounding roger beep on 461.575 (PL 156.7). On to Michigan.
22. Sleep.
