He did not respond to the ACLU of Maryland survey on civil liberties.

According to the Marylanders Against Handgun Abuse, Inc. Senate Candidate Questionnaire, he said he would not oppose and vote against any attempt to weaken Maryland's current system for obtaining a permit to carry concealed handguns, did not answer if he would vote for legislation to require fingerprints of Maryland gun owners, and would vote for legislation enforcing stricter penalties against gun owners who let their children have access to guns.

In the MCRKBA survey, he said he will support revisions to Maryland's code to require concealed handgun licenses be issued to law-abiding applicants and recognize permits issued by other states.

He supports the Intercounty Connector.
