calling frequency

Federal Standard 1037C (the Telecom Glossary 2000) defines a calling frequency as "A radio frequency that a station uses to call another station."

Typically, amateur radio operators will use the agreed-on National Simplex frequency or frequencies in their radio band of choice as their primary calling frequency.
