I-83 in Baltimore, also known as the Jones Falls Expressway (or "the JFX" in Traffic Reporter lingo) is a link between the northern suburbs of Baltimore and the downtown. It extends from the lower part of the city (terminating about level with Route 40/I-70 as President Street) to the I-695 Baltimore Beltway in Baltimore County, where it merges with I-695 for about a mile before extending up north towards Harrisburg. North of the beltway, the JFX is known as the Harrisburg Expressway.
