Computer-Assisted Passenger Screening MIT students Samidh Chakrabarti and Aaron Strauss
have written a paper titled
Carnival
Booth: An Algorithm for Defeating the Computer-Assisted Passenger Screening System which
details how a terrorist cell with a diverse enough
population could evaluate the probability for increased
scrutiny at airline checkpoints given to each of their members at no risk, and then
send the low probability members through the system
undetected. Essentially this paper says that completely
random searches would be more effective.
